Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Skin Beautiful MD ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit skinbeautifulmd.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us. It also explains the choices you have about that information.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, join our email or SMS list, leave a review, or contact us, we collect what you provide: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, order details, review text and any photo you attach, and the content of your messages. Payment card details are entered directly into our checkout provider's secure form and are never stored on our systems.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we and the service providers listed below automatically collect information about your device and how you use the Site: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, time zone, the pages and products you view, the site or search that referred you, how long you stay, and what you click, scroll and add to your cart. This is collected using cookies (small files stored on your device), pixels and tags (small pieces of code embedded in pages), and log files.

Session recordings. We use a session-replay tool (Lucky Orange) that records how visitors move through the Site: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the page content displayed. These recordings do not include payment card details, which are handled entirely inside the checkout provider's secure forms.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to fulfil and deliver your orders and send order confirmations and shipping updates; to answer questions and provide customer service; to screen orders for fraud; to send marketing emails or text messages when you have opted in, and to personalise them; to understand how visitors use the Site and improve it; to measure and improve our advertising; to publish reviews you choose to submit; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share your information with

We share personal information with service providers that help us run the business. Each provider only receives what it needs for the service it performs. The main ones are:

  • Shopify — hosts our store and checkout and processes payments. Shopify privacy policy.
  • Google — Google Analytics (how visitors use the Site), Google Ads (measuring our ads and showing you relevant ads on Google services) and Google Merchant Center (listing our products on Google). Google privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and control ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta Pixel measures our advertising and lets us show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta privacy policy. You can adjust your ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.
  • Klaviyo — sends our marketing emails and text messages, manages sign-up forms, and tracks browsing and purchases so we can send you relevant messages. Klaviyo privacy notice.
  • Lucky Orange — session recordings and heatmaps, described above. Lucky Orange privacy policy.
  • Loox — collects and displays customer reviews and review photos. Loox privacy policy.
  • Warehouse and shipping partners — receive your name, address, phone number and order contents so they can pack and deliver your order.
  • Other tools — on-site search, spam protection on forms (hCaptcha), and similar services that process limited technical data to work.

We may also share information to comply with the law, respond to a lawful request, protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws treat sharing browsing data with advertising platforms like Google and Meta as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising. Section 6 explains how to opt out.

4. Marketing messages

We send marketing emails only to people who have signed up or bought from us and have not opted out, and text messages only to people who have expressly opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, by replying STOP to any text, or by contacting us. Message and data rates may apply to texts.

5. Cookies and your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting cookies and blocking new ones; some parts of the Site may not work properly without them. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will see a cookie banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies and change your preferences later. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

6. Your rights

Everyone. You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for marketing, by emailing support@skinbeautifulmd.com. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the time the law requires (normally 30 to 45 days). We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

US residents. Depending on your state, you may have the rights above plus the right to opt out of targeted advertising and of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. To opt out of targeted advertising, email us at the address above with the subject line "Opt out", or use the Google, Meta and industry links in sections 3 and 5.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom residents. We process your information to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your order), to comply with legal obligations, with your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our business. You have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. Your data is transferred to and stored in the United States; where required we rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or UK government. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Data retention

We keep order records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, and marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics and session-recording data is kept for the periods set by those providers and then deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your information sooner where the law allows.

8. Security

Our store runs on Shopify, which encrypts data in transit and holds PCI-DSS certification for handling payment cards. We limit access to personal information to people who need it to do their jobs. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
